Press Release - KickBack Points, LLC
A “Coalition” is Born
Everyone Wants to Join the Network
Twin Falls, ID – December 17, 2000. They knew going into it that it should happen, they just didn’t figure it would happen so soon. Area merchants have been calling Magic Valley’s premier convenience store chain Oasis Stop ‘N Go’s asking to participate in their recently introduced KickBack Customer Reward Points Card.
Dan Willie, his partners, and senior management team have been fielding calls from area merchants asking how they can participate in their new rewards program for their customers. “When we introduced this last month in our convenience stores we also introduced it in our other businesses at the same time thinking it would help defray our start-up costs,” stated Willie.
“We have the Oasis Fine Food & Spirits restaurant, our truck stop The Travelers Oasis, and several other businesses that we own, but few in the community realized that they all had common ownership, so it was a surprise to hear from so many local merchants asking how they could participate in our program. Apparently, we’re not the only enterprise in town facing stiff competition from the national chains moving into town,” stated Willie.
Now, customers can use their KickBack Customer Reward Points card throughout the community on a regular basis for things like gas, food, laundry, hardware store stuff, and more to earn points and they can spend those points just like cash at any one of the participating locations. “What it really comes down to is what I like to refer to as a ‘village card,’” Willie said.
Oasis Stop ‘N Go CEO Pat Lewis echoed similar sentiments when he discussed how “one of the latest marketing techniques being talked about at all the conventions is to market through other businesses by sharing ideas and building alliances.”
Since the program was set in motion, more then 6,200 Magic Valley customers have joined; Willie and Lewis had figured if they hit 4,000 by Jan. 1, 2001, they would be ahead of schedule.
They’re looking to the future – perhaps Boise, and then maybe the Midwest.
“I hope this is going to grow to be big – really big,” said Willie.
